Well Care CEO, Wayne Long, has been elected to serve on the UNC Chapel Hill School of Nursing (SON) Foundation Board. Long was unanimously elected to the board in late 2014 and began his service this spring. He joins ten other at-large members of the board all serving three-year terms.

According to the preamble of its bylaws, the SON Foundation “encourages the acquisition of major gifts and monitors the responsible investment and management necessary to sustain the growth of the Foundation endowment funds which are used to support the School’s education, research and nursing service mission,”. The Foundation supports the School of Nursing in part by developing and sustaining scholarships and partnerships.

“I’m honored to serve on a board that perpetuates both the educational and healthcare systems of North Carolina,” said Long. “Participation with the SON Foundation also allows me to give back to my alma mater, a university near and dear to me.” Long and wife, Tanya, are both alumni of UNC Chapel Hill. The couple sponsors an annual scholarship for students in the School of Nursing.
