At Well Care, culture is not separate from the work. It shows up in how we support one another, how we recognize great care, how we listen to feedback, and how we stay connected across teams and locations.
From organization-wide recognition programs to local team events, community partnerships, and opportunities to share your voice, Life at Well Care reflects the people who make this place what it is.

Employee Engagement

Recognizing employee achievements is important because it helps people feel valued, motivated, and connected to the mission of the organization. In a fast-paced healthcare environment, it is easy for meaningful contributions to happen quietly, but taking the time to celebrate great work reminds employees that what they do matters. Recognition also helps strengthen engagement, reinforce a positive culture, encourage retention, and highlight the behaviors and values that support high-quality care.

Matter

Recognition that happens every day: Matter

Recognition should not be reserved for big milestones alone. Matter gives team members a simple, meaningful way to recognize one another in real time for the everyday moments that make a difference, from stepping in to help a teammate to going above and beyond for a patient or family. It helps create a culture where appreciation is visible, timely, and part of daily life at Well Care.

The Compass Award Program

The Compass Award is the highest honor and employee recognition awarded at Well Care Health. As depicted in the Well Care logo, the compass symbolizes a path forward and a steadfast guiding force that keeps our organization moving in the right direction. This award is given to employees
who live by the Well Care Way, whose actions and decisions reflect the Well Care Guiding Principles,
and to those who work tirelessly to further the Well Care mission of keeping our communities
healthy, happy, and at home.

All employees are encouraged to nominate individuals for the Compass Award, and all employees are eligible to receive an award. Only the top 1% of those nominated are chosen as recipients of the Compass award. Recipients receive a number of special recognition items including an all expenses paid trip to the formal Well Care Awards event where they will be recognized in person by our leadership team and on video by their colleagues.

Celebrating excellence

Celebrating excellence: Well Care Awards and Sales Awards

The Well Care Awards are held annually and allow us to recognize our Compass Award winners (the highest honor at Well Care) and our amazing Clinical and Support Teams. Our annual Sales Awards event allows us to celebrate and recognize our Business Development teams and the incredible imact they have on the organization.

Both amazing employee recognition events give us the opportunity to formally recognize team members who demonstrate the Well Care Guiding principles, excellence, leadership, dedication, and outstanding performance daily. These awards shine a light on the individuals and teams who help move Well Care forward and reflect the high standards we strive to uphold across the organization. Celebrating their achievements reinforces what excellence looks like and reminds our team that their hard work is seen and valued!

A connected team culture

Branch-level engagement and events

At Well Care, recognizing achievements is not just about celebration. It is about building a workplace where people feel seen, appreciated, and inspired to keep doing their best work.
Each of our branches organize their own local events for employees ranging from paint and sip nights and bowling to volunteering for local organizations and participating in walks and 5K races.

Community matters

Well Care Health has a community impact investment program in partnership with United Way chapters across our Carolinas-based service area. This program is focused on supporting local community needs with a total of $233,000 invested since the initiative launched in November 2025.
These grants are structured to reflect the number of patients Well Care serves in each region. As part of these partnerships, local Well Care leaders will regularly connect with United Way counterparts for impact updates stemming from awarded grants. Well Care also plans to share consistent updates with
staff and explore ways to keep these community investments aligned with evolving local and regional needs.

“This isn’t about checking a box,”

said Zac Long, CEO of Well Care Health. “It’s about living our mission. We looked closely at where we serve patients, the ways community needs are evolving, and where we can step up in supporting local organizations doing impactful work. Local United Ways were natural partners in helping us accomplish these goals. We envision this initiative as a vehicle for giving back to our communities in an intentional and meaningful way.”

Funds are unrestricted and support a wide range of causes including food security, housing stability, family and caregiver support, access to health resources, and economic mobility.
